THE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE & TRAVEL SHOW 

 

In the first quarter, the Tourism Langley Team participated in various industry events, including trade shows like The Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show in Vancouver.  These engagements provided us with the opportunity to interact with diverse market segments, fostering interest in Langley as an appealing destination. Such trade shows serve as valuable opportunities for us to recharge and maintain our dedication to continue advancing Langley's position as a thriving destination for visitors. 

 

BC TOURISM INDUSTRY CONFERENCE

 

Additionally, the team also attended the BC Tourism Industry Conference held in Victoria, where we had the chance to network and engage with fellow professionals and leaders in the tourism industry.

 

We deepened our understanding of the opportunities and obstacles influencing BC's vibrant tourism sector. The engaging discussions and networking highlighted the significance of collaboration in driving our industry forward.

Outdoor Recreation Fund of BC


The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC (ORCBC) has introduced the Outdoor Recreation Fund of BC grant program. It aims to empower communities and volunteer groups in their endeavors to enrich outdoor recreation opportunities and stewardship throughout the province. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2024.

In collaboration with Legacy Bowes, the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) introduced a reconciliation training initiative tailored for non-Indigenous businesses and organizations within the tourism sector. This program aims to create a supportive environment to delve into Indigenous viewpoints and reflect on their contribution to advancing reconciliation efforts.

Resident Perceptions of BC's Tourism Industry

 

Destination BC (DBC) has recently shared their findings from the 2023 Survey on BC Residents' Perceptions of the Tourism Industry. Launched in November 2023, the survey aimed to gauge BC residents' views on the tourism sector, both at the community and provincial levels.
